Power of a Power Property

Suppose \(a\) is a nonzero real number and \(x\) and \(y\) are any integers,

$$\large{{\left( {{a^x}} \right)^y} = {a^{x \cdot y}}}$$

Description: To raise one power to another power, simply multiply the exponents.

Some examples:

$${\left( {{3^2}} \right)^3} = {3^{2 \cdot 3}} = {3^6}$$

$${\left[ {{{\left( { - 2} \right)}^4}} \right]^2} = {\left( { - 2} \right)^{4 \cdot 2}} = {\left( { - 2} \right)^8}$$
